Wow, if somebody would have
told me in April 2000 that Wild Hair would still be
around in 2015, I would have said
"Yeah Right".
Yet amazingly we are here in 2017 and still going strong. I
would like to say a big
THANK YOU to all of our customers, everybody who checked out our
web site and every person who has contacted us.
Even the last few years were a bit rough for us, we are still alive and kicking and
still bringing you top quality parts from Germany and shipping
them all over the world.
We have had a great run with more good memories than bad
and a lot of fun along the way. We hope to create many more
good memories for ourselves and our customers as well. I would
like to share some of those memories with you:
As some of you know, in April of 1999 I picked up a ZRX 1100 (which I
still have) and wanted to customize it. I wanted a one of a kind
ZRX, a bike nobody else has, a StreetFighter. It turned out to
be the Reaper ZRX. In the first year of modifying the ZRX, I
came up with the idea to open a company and import the
accessories I found in Germany. I needed a name. A friend
suggested Wild Hair Accessories.
Cool, I have long hair and a Wild Hair up my b... You know what
I mean.
Upon doing more research on the internet, back in the day with
dial up, I found more
and more cool stuff in
Germany. I realized that most of the accessories were not
available here in the US. Nobody offered GSG, Metisse, Gimbel, Bike Side, Kellermann etc. at that time nor any other StreetFighter
accessories at all.
I thought, "hey, that is a nice little
corner of a market for me".
So I built a little website for Sport/Touring bikes but with StreetFighters
in mind. I don't think I am too far off base if I say that.
Wild Hair
Accessories was the first company in the United States to
offer StreetFighter accessories.
I still remember my first sale, it was a Gimbel belly pan
for a ZRX
1100. That was a cool moment.
Back in 2000 I had a job as a mechanic and one day at
work my cell phone rang and it was a customer! That turned out
to be the end of that job and the start of Wild Hair Accessories as a
business in its own rite. He was the first customer to
send me a picture of his bike with the parts he had received
from us.
This picture is still in our web site, it is a SV 650.
Slowly from there things began to build and we hope that if you
have purchased from us that your experience was a good one and
if you have yet to purchase from us we look forward to hearing
from you.
Over the years, we had some great conversations with our
customers and not just about bikes.
We have had the pleasure of
meeting some great characters over the phone, listened to some
interesting stories and made more than a few friends.
One of our fondest memories was being contacted by the people
who worked with the show "Biggest Loser", they wanted some of
our parts to adorn Jillian's bike upon her debut on the show. If
you saw that episode, those were our parts on that FZ 1 and we
are very proud of that! She had a FZ 1 with
Bike Side fairing and Kellermann Bar End signals.
Jessica Prokow, Neal Beale are also our customers. We felt a
great sense of pride about that.
Kellermann BL 1000 bar end signals can also be seen in the 2008
movie "Hellride".
The Bandit XXR flat black helmet was featured in the movie "The
Girl With The Dragoon Tattoo". It came as a total surprise. What
a proud moment that was.
Since 2006 I got help from Veronica, my lovely wife and singer
of the Heavy Metal band called Benedictum.
In 07, we opened StreetFighters Inc. together offering more StreetFighter
accessories and we still believe, the Fighter scene is the next
big thing in the motorcycle scene. We want to do all we can to
make that a reality. So if you have a chance check out
www.streetfightersinc.com
Again, thanks to everybody for
your support.
